Crosby, Ovechkin set to make returns
The two top scorers in fantasy return to action in Monday's nine-game slate. Penguins star center Sidney Crosby (29 games, 19-17-36, owned in 99 percent of all Yahoo! leagues), the third leading scorer in the NHL, sat out his first game of the season on Saturday with a sore groin. But not to worry, Crosby owners, the superstar will be back for Monday's home game against Carolina.
"I'm in," Crosby told Pittsburgh's team Web site. "I've had a good couple days of rest and got it worked on. There's no more pain. That's all I really wanted to get rid of. I can deal with it right now." "With the speed and the pace and what other teams have to bring to the table, when he's out there playing his game 5-on-5 and on the power play it's a different level than your average player coming back to the lineup. We'll gladly insert him in his spot," coach Dan Bylsma said.
Also on Monday, Chris Kunitz (19, 3-9-12, 53 percent) and Alex Goligoski (21, 6-10-16, 67 percent) returned to practice for the first time following their injuries (lower-body and undisclosed, respectively), but neither is expected to play. "I'm feeling better and better so ... when they let me go out and do different things and start practicing with the team, we'll know from there," Kunitz told the Post-Gazette. "Until we get to that point, I don't really have an idea."
